An Unlikely Advent -- Advent Study Series
Sundays at 11:45 am in the Fireplace Room (Beginning December 1st)
An Unlikely Advent: Extraordinary People of the Christmas Story by Rev. Rachel Billups
Study led by Pastor Cody Natland
This Advent, you are invited to join Pastor Cody for a study that will bring depth and focus to some of the "side characters" of the nativity story, and will help to prepare your heart and soul to receive the gift of Jesus on Christmas. We will be studying the book/video series "An Unlikely Advent: Extraordinary People of the Christmas Story" by Rev. Rachel Billups. The study will be held in the Fireplace Room after Coffee Hour on Sundays (around 11:45am) beginning Sunday, December 1st. The study will feature a video clip and discussion each week throughout our four sessions, and reading the book is encouraged, but not required for participants.
You can watch a video introduction to the series here: https://youtu.be/XSitzUBeeYY
The book can be purchased on Amazon or Cokesbury for about $13.00. Pastor Cody has a few copies available for purchase or loan.

About the Study Series: This four-week Advent study focuses on the experiences of four sets of often overlooked characters in the Nativity story. During this Advent season, Rachel Billups guides readers through the themes of hope, love, joy, and peace by sharing the stories of Elizabeth and Zechariah, Herod, the Magi, and the shepherds. Each set of unexpected characters has something to teach about living faithfully on the journey to Christmas.
