I'm New

First of all, welcome!

At Ellensburg UMC we seek to cultivate a welcoming space where all people can gather to connect with God and one another through worship and service.

We welcome all people at EUMC, and our all truly means all. All races. All nationalities. All sexual orientations. All gender identities. The poor. The rich. The recovery community. Whoever you are,  you are welcome here.

When We Meet

Sunday Morning Worship Service

10:00 am in the Sanctuary

Fellowship & Coffee

In the Fellowship Hall following Worship

What To Expect

A typical service will last about 60-75 minutes. We sing a mix of  traditional and more contemporary music led by the piano and pipe organ, with occasional musical offerings from our Sanctuary Choir and Handbell Choir. Words for the songs and unison prayers are projected on a screen at the front of the Sanctuary. Every worship service includes Holy Communion, and our table is open to all, with gluten free bread and alcohol-free grape juice.  After the service, we invite you to join us downstairs in the Fellowship Hall for coffee, light refreshments, and fellowship.

Children Are Welcome

We welcome worshippers of all ages, and we know that it can be hard to sit quietly through a worship service (for children and adults alike!).  We have a space set up at the back of the Sanctuary with a rocking chair, a children's-height table with chairs, books, and various coloring pages and activities. Children are invited to participate in a short Sunday School lesson following Holy Communion (Sept-June).  Children are invited to line up at the back of the Sanctuary after receiving Communion, and their teachers will lead them downstairs to the Fireplace Room (please fill out a permission form on the first Sunday your child attends).

Come As You Are!

We invite you to come as you are, and dress however you are comfortable. On a typical Sunday, you might see folks wearing jeans and flip flops, and others in dresses and slacks – along with everything in between!  We want you to feel comfortable when you come to worship with us, so dress however you are comfortable.

(Summertime note: We do not have air conditioning, though we do open windows for airflow and cooling. The Sanctuary will likely be hot when the outside temperatures are hot, so we encourage you to dress comfortably.)

Accessibility

We strive to make our building and our ministries accessible to all.

We offer an elevator to access our Sanctuary (as you arrive, make your way toward the front reception desk, and then turn right for the elevator) and we have ramps to help move throughout the rest of our space.  Large print bulletins and printed sermon manuscripts are available by request. The back of our Sanctuary includes open space for those who need to stretch, get out your wiggles, or if sitting for longer periods of time causes pain.
